D&D - Crossdressing adventures

When we last left the party, they were tied up and being taken away to their fates by a group of paladins for the crime of, well, possibly expecting paladins to have a sense of humour. The only one still free was Bandez, the bard. He's the party's brains, moral compass (although not everyone is keen on following it) and so strong he can almost swim across river without drowning. And currently the party's only hope of keeping their heads attached to their necks.
Before he could dramatically rescue his friends, Bandez had first to loose two paladins of Yangus who were being bad sports and hanging around looking for him. A judcious use of the facinate spell and our hero is on his horse and racing for the hills. The paladins soon give chase, but Bandez is clearly more used to running for his life (the party do have a habit of stirring up hornets's nests) and after a long chase was able to out run them.
Next step was find the party and break them out before they were executed. Oh, and finding the information they were sent to retrieve would be a good thing too. So, time to scout around and see how things work before making a plan or 6. The first piece of information Bandez discovers is that only three groups of people are allowed into the church library: the priests, the royal family and the courtesans-in-training. (You can see where this is going already, can't you?)
So, first try: the direct approach - go to the church, give pretty much unaltered story and hope to be let in. Unfortunately paranoia is running high, and the arrest of some paladin impersonaters who were no doubt trying to bring the organisation down from the inside really hasn't helped. So, no booked for Bandez.
Next step: try at the palace. Bamndez explains his pressing needs to the guards, and points out that his travelling companions have been aflicted by a strange metal poison and done terrible things, so it really is urgent that he gets those books. The guards, horrified that the evil has spread into their borders, insist on notifying the paladins that the end of the world is nigh and keeping an eye on Bnadez incase he is also evil. A dark alley and a sleep spell later, Bandez is free to try is final plan.
First, he must carry out that most painful task: shaving his beard. Then, a disguise check later, Bandez the bard is now a passingly attractive travelling scholar. Female scholar. Presenting himself at the gate of the cortesan academy, he finds it surprisingly easy to enter. Turns out that a small group of intellegent women with little to test them get bored very quickly and are thus open to all sorts of suggestions like, for example, jail break.
So, aided by two courtesans, Bandez is able to sneak into the dungeons, past the sleeping paladins and release the party. There are minor delays while Charles is convinced not to kill Esselt there and then, and then to put on women's clothing (I'm not sure which he protested most), but eventually they were able to slip out to the courtesan's courtyard. Esselt was quite keen on staying, ("Hot! Babes!"), but the rest of the party thought that was a little unfair on their rescuers.
Finally, they made their way out of the city and Bandez revealed he was their saviour.
Talia - "You shaved off your beard for us?"
Charles - "You're a woman?"
Bandez chased Esselt around with a sap for a bit, and Charles hit him properly, but they were all too tired and hungry to really kill each other. Apart from Bandez, they have lost all their weapons, their horses (bye bye One Gold Piece) and any equipment they weren't carrying. But Castle Barrel is their next destination, so everything will be fine once they get there, right?
Right?
