Weekend was lovely. On saturday, we took [livejournal.com profile] samedifference fabric shopping. Managed to find pretty much everything I need. I know have:
2 meters black pvc
1/2 meter gold pvc
3 meters dark green fabic
2 meters green lining
1 meter powder blue polycotton
1 meter black fur
1 meter black.... stuff. This is awsome. You just can't stop poking it. It was described as strange stretch black stuff, if I remember rightly.
Anyway, can you guess what it is yet?

I have plans for 6 costumes for Ame (bang goes my "I'll just make something for the ball and then rewear others" idea.) I hope I'll get them all finished, but I have no idea. This is the first con in about 2 years where I'm not intending to enter the masqerade. I may do, but it depends how two of the costimes come out.

Alice's dress is pretty much done, I just need to hem it and sort out the sleeves. Then I need to find an oversized purple flower. I'm hoping to get Machs done for expo so Joe has something to wear.

Managed to break the lid on my sewing box. it will fix with a bit of superglue, but it was irritating that it came off that easily. Tidied my cosplay room again - still need more storage. I think that's what the house lacks most at the moment - shelves. We have so many books and dvds they cover rooms!

Found a copy of Farenheit 451. I didn't think I had this, so it was a nice surprise. Need to find my copy of Ten Years Later, as I require more muskateer goodness.

On Sunday I went horse riding with my mother, for the first time in years. It was good to know I hadn't forgotten everything, but we went at a fairly sedate pace anay so all was fine. I think my horse wanted to be in front, but considering I had no idea where we were going, he was stuck.

And dropped my mobile. Fortuantely a lovely guy (sorry Alex) picked it up, texted back the first message in my inbox and allowed me to track him down and reclaim my errant handset. I had locked my sim previous to this, so I won't be available by mobile until virgin send me my new on though, which should be some day this week.

Apart from that, which really pissed me off, the rest of the weekend was lovely. It was largely spent feeding people.

Thurday and Friday [livejournal.com profile] almosthonest came round and we finished watching the rest of firefly. Greatly enjoyed that series, must seek out the film when it is released. It also has several ties to my D&D game, enough to prompt the comment "Did Joss Weadon ask you for plot ideas?" - Though he must have had them first technically.

Equivalences under the cut as they will be meaningless to anyone who is not in the game or has not seen Firefly )

[livejournal.com profile] elmyra and [livejournal.com profile] baloonworld came down for the weekend. It was lovely. We invaded Bristol on Saturday, ate noodles and aquired stuff. On Sunday we found [livejournal.com profile] chiarah and fed her lunch. Then we had an adventure to PC World, made the Imac play Nirvana and scared the sales staff.

Aargh! Attractive women who know about computers!

In the evening I cooked a roast chicken with roast potatoes and parsnips and brussel sprouts (not roasted). It seemed to be apprciated, and we watched the first two back to the future films. They were great. Uttterly. And now everyone in the house wants a delorian. Again.

Edit:
Alex we've kidnapped Mal and if you want him back you must provide a worthy ransome.

By this I mean we still have the slip from the dvd box set and if you want it back come round.

Joe and I are planning a trip to Bristol on Saturday largely for costume bits (as Guildhall market has no floor) but I suspect we will end up all over the place and in several comic/roleplaying shops.

Anyone wanting to join us is more that welcome. Post a comment and times and meeting places can be discussed.

I also have an order of the stick t-shirt. It has the 'bluff the stupid ogre strip' on it. Whoo!
