This one has pictures of Bristol Zoo taken on Saturday. Not terribly amazing ones, and none of the sloths or armadillos. I did finally get to see the sugar-glider, which has eludided me on previous visits. The bats appear to have given birth recently as several of them had small bats attached to their bellies. Not that you could see them, as none of them ever showed you more than their backs. You could just see little extra feet.

Leemas like grapes. They're not too fussed about anything else. But grapes are important.

Date: 2009-03-10 07:20 am (UTC)Lizards are awesome. The best kind of lizards are armadillo lizards which bite their tails when threatened and turn into jagged polos of death so you can't eat them; and Australian sleepy lizards. These mate for life and during the spring the male finds his female and just walks next to her through the bush. It's so adorable. Unfortunately they like to bask on roads and don't move very fast, so they get squished quite easily.
