I wasn't awake this morning. At least I was up, which was better than yesterday. (I woke up at 7.30. My bus was at 7.10. I think I was out of bed and out of the door in less than 2 minutes, which is the only thing that saved me from being late).

Having time this morning for breakfast, I was reading lj and looking at someone's icon. It was a Sailor Moon one. 5 different sailor scouts, with little slogan under each one. I looked at this thing four times before I realised what was bugging me. The faces of of the sailor scouts had been removed and replaced with the faces of Gundam Wing pilots.

On the bus this morning, reading the Metro and there is an article about parents who have just named their little boy.... Cool.

That's right. Cool.

That child is going to be miserable his whole life at school I'm willing to bet.

Also, can I point the following out (mainly to the readers of the Sun):

I'm not going to get involved about a debate on pensions but the following points are true ( I can testify from personal experience).

1) Puplic service workers often have families. You are not castrated upon joining up.
2) Public service workers pay tax. Just because your salary is coming out of public funds does not exclude you from having to pay back into them.
3) Not all public service workers are on the same sort of salaries as MPs for example. Many (if not most)are on considerably less.

Reading some of the papers over the last few weeks you may be mistaken for thinking otherwise.
