Despite the weather, Mili-chan made it into Bath only a couple of hours late and went to recruit up on campus. Which was shut. Still, I understand she had success recrutiting some of the other recruiters and setting up a bartering system based on pringles. After that was done, she met me when I finished work along with Martin, who had been kicked out of his lab due to asbestos. Yay Bath Uni.

Headed home, had tea (you mght notice a theme as time goes on,) and decided what to do for dinner. Sushi was agreed on, and we passed the mission details on to Marcus and Alex. We missed Adrian and Dori, but I don't blame them for not wanting to risk the weather to get into Bath. Sushi was very yummy, but no one wanted the fish-egg ones. After the meal, we headed back and Alex had a very small snowball fight - I hit him and then hid in the house before he could retaliate.

Friday Mili and I headed into town with the intention of hiding in the tea shop all day. Unfortunately, the tea shop, like many others, was shut due to the weather. We also utterly failed to get into the Works, which was closed for a very long ten minutes. Had lunch in Hing Kong Bistro. I still don't like it as a restraunt, but it works well as quick lunch. Also had to nip into the pet shop and say hello to the Beardies. Someone has decided to call them Svcott and Charleen, but they don't seem to be suffering too much for that!

Back at home we played the wait-for-flight-update game. Bristol airport was shut until about 4pm, after which time Paul's flight was prompted cancelled. Bollox, but he was able to get a flight the next day. Cat and Martin came found in the evening, and I finally got to give Cat her Christmas present. I was very tempted to steal one of the books, but I was good and resisted.

We had hourly updates from Paul, which went along the lines of "I'm x hours late". Fortunately he wasn't stuck on the plane, so it wasn't as dreadful as it could be. Mili, Joe and I went back to town. The tea room was open, so we had pre-lunch tea. Then we remembered we hadn't paid and displayed, and had to rush back to the car-park, only to find Mili-s first parking ticket. We cheered outselves up with Boston Teaparty burgers, which are the best burgers I have ever had. I'm not really a burger eater, I'll generally have bean / vege burgers in fast food places. But these things are divine.

After lunch, I managed to get into the works, and pick up a couple of kids drawing books. I've always wanted to draw things that didn't look shit and it occured to me that I've never really had any real instruction on how to draw. So I've found a something about my level and we'll see what happens!

Finally we headed off and aquired a Paul. There was much more snow out there, especially on several cars that had obviously been there several days. In the pickup carpark, a few people were looking at some expensive parking fees. Then we headed back into town to the teashop. (Told you!) We also aquired a Shevek, an Andy and a Martin, and bumped into Kirsty and Katrina, who were also buying tea.

After that we tried on dresses at Shevek's place. Paul looked very cute and I got to try on a beautiful skirt which I will try and make for myself at some point. Then back to mine for roast dinner of success and failure. The chicken was nice and moist, the parsnips were very well done, but the potatoes were average, the yorkshire puddings were a disaster and I forgot the stuffing. Still, I think people enjoyed.

Sunday I work up feeling very down adn so I wasn't terribly good company for the first part of the day. We had been planning to go to Longleat, but it was opening again next weekend, not this one, so that was out. We decided to go to Bristol Zoo instead. First we had to go to Combe Down to demonstrate what not being lame is like, and then off to the Zoo.

Joe and I now have annual membership to the zoo, so if anyone wants a day trip out there at any time, let us know. They had several new animals, including raccons, which were being walked around on leads. They were very curious and wanted to explore, includin climbing people's legs. There was also an armadillo, who was adorable, very scampery, and would come over and look at you. Pictures below.

Afterwards, we took Martin out with us to the Olive Tree restraunt, which was very nice, though not terribly cheap! They did give us complimentary parsnip soup and little sweets with coffee. The food was very good.
