Weekend...
Aug. 18th, 2008 08:24 amGot round to watching Sin City on Friday. I'd heard it was good, and it's been on my to watch list for years, but I never got round to it. I'd heard wrong though - it wasn't good, it was fantastic. It felt like reading a comic book without having to turn the pages. It was stylisha dn artistic without being pretentious, which is a risk with things like this. The stories were interesting and well-paced, the charecters very human with all that entails. And it was very violent, but without being gory, or unnecessary. I've felt with some films that the plot was merely a vehicle for getting shots of exit wounds, but it wasn't the case here.
Also found a beautiful and ginourmous spider on the curtains, who was quickly moved into the shower room.
Saturday had the achievement of getting up, going to the local shops, and then realising we'd both forgotten out keys. So we made a slight detour into town and stole Rachael-chan's. Came back and made lasagne for the first time to take to James and Leena's. Wasn't bad, but I think my shepard's pie is better. I didn't think I was going to be able to make that though.
Had a lovely civilised meal wit James and Leena, then watched the Star Wars Robot Chicken, which was amusing in places, but not amazing, and the first three episodes of Slayers Revolution. Then we did some turtle racing. My pink turtle won, so I got pink pocky as a prize. (That might have been a coincedence.)
Sunday was spent playing games. I actually managed to complete both Phoenix Wright and Crisis Core (though I will have to go back to Crisis Core as I've missed loads of stuff.) More Phoneix Wright will be ordered shortly, as it's awesome and lovely.
