I've been looking at the photos from London Expo with Joe. There were some abolutely fantastic costumes there. Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] lex_is_evil, we had a feeling you might win, and to the Disney group for making small children squee :)

I love looking at other people's costumes, and while I'd never begrudge anyone there talent, sometimes I'm just left feeling a bit inadequate. Considering that everything I know, I've taught myself through largely trial and error, I'm not a bad cosplayer, but I feel like I'm getting to the limit of my skills. I can learn new things, and I think each costume I do will be more refined than other, but I'm not going to make any big leaps from where I am right now.

This does leave me a little sad. With pretty much everytihng I do, whether its music, writing, cosplay, etc, I'm average. I'm better than some people, but I'm nowhere near the level where I can play with the big names. I knew this with music early on, it's why I gave up playing the piano. I got to grade 3-4 and knew that was as good as it was going to get. With writing, it's less important to me, as I'm writing for the story, not myself.

But it would be nice, if I could pull it together and be the one in the costume that turned heads, the one that got talked about.
