The party are currently on a mission to collect four artifacts and stop them falling into the hands of one of their most hated enemies. They had, in the previous session, just completed a good and noble deed, and nothing had gone particularly wrong, so the should have been expecting reprocussions :)

They entered the ruins and met the first encounter of the day - a small passage filled with water. More frightening than you might think, given the party's previous enconters with swimming. Fortunately they made it through with minimal effort (though Turk did need to be encouraged). I am still having trouble picturing how Ged swam with a big ball of half-plate strapped to his waist.

Once all the party were on the right side of the tunnel, they found the second magical object they have ever seen. It was a glowing orb in a floor puzzle. Floor puzzle was quickly solved because I didn't spot the shortcut when I was constructing it. Once the riddle was solved, a door slid open. Turk quickly realised that undoing the puzzle would close the door, so if anyone came through after them, they would be stuck. He volenteered to remain outside in case any evil armies turned up while they were exporing. Turk was probably the best for this job as Bandez has strengh 6; Esselt would probably poke the magic orb until somethng broke; Ralph gets bored with nothng to stab; and Ged would lose something, probably the door.

Beyond the puzzle room was a small series of passages, containing statues, each one showing one of the artifacts they were looking for and a cryptic word. Once through the tunnels, they found themselves in large room with a mural, showing the same man as the statues depicted adn hiding the sceptre. (People checked to see if there were any other artifacts in the room - you should be so lucky :)

Taking the sceptre opened the next door - unfortunately, something was waiting behind it: two large alligators. (I had to, really). Alligators again made their saves against sleep (I didn't stat them to be immune, it's just they never seem to fail their saves!) I don't know what people were worried about, the alligators only chewed on Gen, everyone else shot the from afar and was fine.

Badez waved the sceptre around regally, until the walls started coming down. The party beat a hasty retreat as the rocks fell on them (well mainly on Esselt but dice are random so you can't blame me). Bandez was assited by Turk ( who may or may not have bene using him as a human schield) and Ged nearly drowned in his armour.

Battered and bruised, they are now on their way to a necropolis. What could go wrong there?
