GG says...

When leaving Bristol Zoo (sudden surprise visit to cheer Ailsa-chan up with baby fur seal) there's a clattering noise, and my engine stops.

That, dear friends, turned out to be the noise of the cam shaft going, chewing up the valves. The cam belt is fine, its the much more expensive bit that broke, in turn breaking other bits.

If it is going to cost more than the car is worth (which is likely) I guess I'll pick up another, almost certainly smaller, car. Ho hum.

It served me well, especially given what I paid for it ^_^;
I don't like to spend much on cars, as I tend to use them about 3 times a month. It's bloody ridiculous that it is STILL cheaper for me to run, insure, tax a car than it is for Ailsa-chan and myself to use public transport in spite of us not needing to commute, etc.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you find a good replacement soon. Know what you mean about public transport though. Quite the rip-off. We're down on Thursday, so we'll see Ailsa-chan and hopefully GG too!

Bummer about your car - unfortunately a side effect of having one is that when they go, they can go in style.

As you said, it served you well (despite the odd hiccup here and there but that was probably more the battery than the car itself).

Good luck getting a replacement.

Bertie says *beep beep!* (loosely translated that means he looks forward to befriending your new companion XD)
